Coaching

You & me”

For the architect, landscape architect or engineer who's brilliant at the work and has just been told they're also responsible for bringing it in. Usually the person who least wants to be doing this.

What it solves
You know you should be building relationships. You don't know who to call, what to say, or how to keep it going when a deadline hits. So it slides, and then it's six months later.

What actually happens
We work through the ROOT Method together, applied to your real network and your real goals. Between sessions, you'll have two or three specific things to do, never a long list.

What you walk away with
An organised network you can actually use, a way of reaching out that sounds like you, and a habit that survives a busy month.

Team workshops

“Us & them”

For firms where business development sits with a handful of seller-doers who've never been trained, and everyone is doing it differently — or not at all.

What it solves
Relationships live in individual inboxes. When someone leaves, the relationship leaves with them. Nobody's sure who owns which client.

What actually happens
A half or full day at your office. We map the network the team already has — usually far bigger than anyone realises — then work through the method together and agree what each person will do.

What you walk away with
A shared map of your firm's relationships, a common language for discussing them, and commitments you can follow up in ninety days.

The Retreat

A calm, candid, relationship-first afternoon

A 2.5-hour, in-person, nature-based workshop that helps AEC professionals reconnect to their “why” and translate it into a clear, values-aligned business development strategy.

What it solves
You can't reflect on what you want from your career in the ninety minutes between meetings. The first stage of the method needs space, and the office won't give you any.

What actually happens
Outdoors, in a small group of mixed disciplines. Structured sessions, time to walk and think, and honest conversation with people facing exactly the same thing. Sketchbooks encouraged.

What you walk away with
Real clarity about the work you want more of, a plan you had time to think about properly, and a handful of peers who'll still be checking in a year later.

Virtual workshop

The ROOT Method, five sessions, from anywhere

A 5-part, 1-hour series you can join from the office, the beach, or anywhere in between. Twelve people maximum, so it stays a conversation rather than a webinar.

What it solves
You want to know whether this approach suits you before committing to coaching — and you want accountability, not just information.

What actually happens
We go step by step through Reflect → Organize → Outreach → Tend. You get direct instruction from me plus built-in accountability from the group, so you don't just learn the method; you implement it.

What you walk away with
A ROOT-aligned plan and momentum to actually follow through on it.

“You & you” — coming soon

A self-paced way to use the ROOT Method to turn your network into a focused, values-aligned relationship system. For mission-driven leaders who'd rather work through it alone, in their own time. Join the list and I'll tell you the moment it opens — no other emails.

Questions people ask

If yours isn't here, just ask me on the call.

I'm not a salesperson. Will this feel like sales training?

No — it's the opposite. The method is built on the relationships you're already good at, with people you genuinely like working with. No scripts, nothing you'd be embarrassed to send.

How long before I see anything happen?

Most people notice a difference in how conversations feel within a few weeks. Work coming through takes longer because relationships do, usually six to twelve months. Anyone promising faster is selling something else.

Do you work with individuals or whole firms?

Both. Coaching is one-to-one; workshops are for teams; the retreat is a small mixed group. Firms often start with one person and expand from there.

I'm an engineer, not an architect. Is this still for me?

Yes. I work across the whole AEC industry. The pressure to bring in work alongside the technical job is the same everywhere.

How much time does it take on top of project work?

Less than you'd expect, deliberately. If it doesn't survive a busy month it isn't working — so we build for busy months.

Do you work outside Texas?

Yes. Coaching and the virtual workshop run online worldwide. In-person team days and retreats are mostly around Dallas, but I travel.

Still not sure which one?

Book a short intro call and we'll work it out together. No pitch — I'll tell you honestly if I'm not the right fit.
